    Pipeline TD's/Pipeline Developers

    Description:

    If you take on this role you will be involved in the creation and ongoing support of high-end visual effects/animation pipelines and asset/project management systems. Besides coding and maintaining tools you will also come into contact with infrastructure and software deployment technologies. On a daily basis you will work with Python, Bash, Rez, ShotGrid, FTrack, databases, custom software and so much more. You will be scripting in industry specific packages like Nuke, Maya, Blender, Toon Boom Harmony, Houdini, ...

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Problem solving issues, refactoring and benchmarking existing tools/software.
  • Developing pipeline tools/software.
  • Discussing with colleagues in other studios and setting up plans and timings for pipeline development.
  • Developing/setting up applications for use by production teams.
  • Documenting tools/software for users.
  • Deliver support of tools/software in an urgent and timely fashion.
  • Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of Python.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills with a solid background in algorithms and data structures.
  • Experience testing code and ability to create clear documentation.
  • Ability to develop code independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity scripting or writing plugins for Houdini, Maya, or Nuke.
  • Experience working in feature film, TV Visual Effects or animation, with knowledge of VFX industry-standard methodologies, tools and processes for software.
  • Nice-to-haves:

  • Code sharing and repository experience using Git.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting.
  • C/C++/Rust experience.
  • JavaScript/CSS or other scripting language experience.
  • Understanding of relational databases and SQL.
  • Knowledge of Rez.

    Systems Administrator

    Systems Administrator

    Description:

    The Systems team is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting the technology infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, storage, networking, workstations and rendering. It also includes the various software elements around both the core operating system(s) and the various application layer components that are deployed upon that framework. As part of the Systems team you will implement and support the technology stack at various sites, both internal as with external clients. You may be required to travel on-site to external client locations to perform support or maintenance. You are encouraged to propose and work on (and sometimes lead) projects that will advance the technology framework. This includes elements of project management and communication across other departments.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring systems run reliably.
  • Plan for and implement upcoming requirements or patches.
  • Respond to service outages or other complex systems-related problems.
  • Managing the fleet of workstations.
  • Scripting and light programming.
  • Writing technical documentation on new or existing services and procedures.
  • Qualifications:

  • 2+ years in systems administration or a similar role.
  • Core understanding of Linux systems, either (or both) Debian-based (Debian, Ubuntu) and Redhat-based (CentOS, Rocky) systems.
  • Core understanding of Windows systems.
  • You have a strong approach to problem-solving.
  • You value teamwork and have good collaboration and communication skills.
  • Nice-to-haves:

  • Configuration management (SaltStack).
  • Networking (Subnetting, VLANs, firewall management, ...).
  • Storage configuration and maintenance (ZFS, Ceph, CIFS/NFS shares).
  • Virtualization cluster administration (Proxmox PVE).
  • Monitoring systems (Zabbix).
  • Active Directory & Samba AD directory management.
  • Postgres database cluster management.
  • Management of cloud resources, mainly hosts and S3 storages.
  • Light scripting in Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
  • Render farm administration (Thinkbox Deadline).
  • A master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Note: We do not expect you to have experience with all of the listed tools. Having worked with related substitutes (eg. Puppet instead of Salt; VMWare instead of Proxmox; ...) is also considered a plus.

    Technical Artists

    Technical Artists

    Description:

    A Technical Artist will work closely with artists and programmers to help with the asset and pipeline optimizations. You will participate in the implementation of technical art features, develop tools and workflows, and will perform debugging on tools and processes. Ongoing support of high-end visual effects/animation pipelines and asset/project management systems. You might come into contact with infrastructure and software deployment technologies. On a daily basis you will work with Python, Bash, Rez, ShotGrid, FTrack, databases, custom software and so much more. You will be scripting in industry specific packages like Nuke, Maya, Blender, Toon Boom Harmony, Houdini, ... This in several industries games, film and animation

    Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Art Leads, Technical Directors and QA to ensure that all the assets conform to technical requirements.
  • Share best practices, conduct training sessions to the team to ensure proper use of tools and methods.
  • Integrate, validate and optimize graphic data in the engine or scenes by using scripts if needed.
  • Ensure that graphic bugs and pipeline bugs are fixed according to their priorities and provide support to the other artists.
  • Produce and maintain documentation on tools, methods, trainings, processes, pipeline, and engine limits for consultation and future reference.
  • Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of Graphic Rendering Pipeline for next-gen technologies.
  • Experience working with Game Engines (Unreal, Unity, CryEngine) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of UI Development for Tools (WPF, WinForms, XAML, QT, Que, Electron) is a plus.
  • Code sharing and repository experience using Git.
  • Knowledge of Linux and Bash scripting.
